In other words, is it possible to get home phone service in a standalone manner and, if so, what is the monthly fee. Hi G, thanks for your post. You can have it as a stand-alone device, however, the cost depends on which talk plan is selected for that particular account. My system standard? All the electrical signals should be the same just like your ZTE would need to convert. It just sends out a canned intrusion message over the phone. Hi James, great question! Thanks for taking the time to ask.
Our ZTE Home Base is a wireless device so it acts very similarly to a cell phone in terms of how it connects to the service. Does the ZTE device provide a dial tone? I think its just using tones. Most home security systems usually pair with a landline in some way that may not always be compatible with our home base because it works almost like a cell phone with how it provides service.
What I would recommend is contacting your home security provider to see if their service can work with a cellular device or if it needs to have a landline service to pair up with.
That means run off the battery until it gets discharged and then charge it again. It would be better to only put in a charged battery when your power goes out. Many of our customers actually keep it plugged in all the time so that they can be assured of that full battery if something happens and the power goes out.
We cancelled our land based line because it was connected to a vacation home used at various times through out the year and was not cost effective. We did have a base unit an 3 other remote hand sets within the home. Would your ZTE base allow all hand sets to be used? Hi William, thanks for your post! You can use all three headsets, the main base one would just need to be connected the ZTE Home Base to allow for the network to go out to those headsets properly.
Some batteries have a longer lifespan if they are discharged almost fully and then recharged i. Other batteries do better if kept fully charged as much as possible. Customers may leave the unit plugged in but the battery reserve may be less when it is actually needed for a power outage?
Also, can you use an answering machine base with wireless handsets with the unit? Will the ZTE pass the call to the answering machine allowing the customer to hear the incoming call and use the answering machine to screen calls i. Hi Dan, those are great questions! You can use an answering machine, it would just need to plug into one of the outlets available on the back of the phone so that way any missed calls or people who leave a voicemail would go through that rather than our voicemail feature that comes with the ZTE Home Base.
Always giving our best to give you the best.
Our current landline service is via a cable company. I was thinking that the ZTE would work the same way. Thank you for taking the time to post, Walt. Because our service works off of cellular service only, we cannot use the wall jack to provide service to landline devices. Our ZTE Wireless Home Phone Base allows a landline-style phone to connect to our cellular network, and connecting the home base or the phone to the wall jack when attempting to use our service will cause an interference with the service.
Hi Dave, thanks for your question. When that one is connected to our ZTE Home Base, the base is what supplies it with service so that it can then tell the other phones to ring when a call comes in. I have home landline service with Verizon that I would like to discontinue. Excellent question, Sarah. As long as the number remains active with the current provider during the transfer process, you can switch it over. Email Address won't be published.
