OMG… my waistline is going to double this Holiday season if I’m not careful. The other day, Ron said “we should make lots of different cookies this Christmas… not just cut outs. Ya know, like single batches of all sorts.” To which I excitedly replied “I’ve been pinning recipes!!” I’ve always wanted to get an invite to a Cookie Party. You know the kind. It’s where you bake 5 dozen of a single type of cookie and bring it to the party. Then, you bring home 5 dozen completely different cookies. Doesn’t that sound fun, and yummy? (And the best kind of fattening.) Oh yes. I think it sounds delightfully delicious. Some of these recipes I had a hard time deciding if I should pin them in my OMG that looks so delicious board or over on the Holiday Folly board. Can’t I have peppermint Oreos year round?
And for those that are thinking “Kerry, what about Thanksgiving? Why are you decking your halls so early?” To me, the HOLIDAYS go from November 1 – January 2. Peppermint goes with turkey, in my opinion, and you can make merry all season long. Why not have a tin of yummy treats out for Thanksgiving dessert? Maybe you don’t have room for a whole piece of pie… you could pop a cookie in your pie hole. Seriously, yo.
So… what will you be baking up this season? Do you have a traditional treat you always make? Are you trying something new? I’d love to know… and I’ll pin it on my Holiday Folly board if you share!

Finally, someone else like me! I got grief when I took out a FEW Christmas decorations on Nov. 1!
I always bake gingerbread cookies (Martha Stewart’s recipe), cranberry pistachio biscotti (which is a big favorite!), Chocolate chip Kahlua biscotti, Chocolate chip/skor bar cookies. We always have a HUGE cookie decorating party with the gingerbread…lots of fun. Love the pins you have…will be checking them out!
Hmm…maybe Nov. 1st is too early for Christmas for me, I like to focus on Thanksgiving and the Fall colors still…until next week. But basically it’s one long holiday decorating event from Halloween to Christmas during these months!
I’ll be waiting for that invitation to that virtual cookie exchange! I wanna go. Or I might just have to wrestle up something here!
